Distribution Sales Professional
Bluestone Vineyard is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our team as a distribution sales professional. This position offers the opportunity to develop a sales territory by maintaining relationships with current clients and bringing in new ones to drive business. Clients include restaurants, wine shops, grocery stores, and markets. The role involves being an ambassador for our company and a trusted face to our customers. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills to provide service and support to customers, be self-motivated, have an appreciation for wine, and maintain a clean driving record. This full-time position includes a flexible work schedule, a company car, three weeks of total paid time off per year, holiday pay, and medical insurance.
Job Responsibilities
- Visit established accounts on a regular basis to communicate with clients about their wine stock, obtain orders, and take samples of new wines.
- Research and develop new accounts in sales territory.
- Create invoices and deliver wine orders to make sure all orders are paid in a timely manner by customers.
- Maintain clean and updated records for all clients and potential clients.
- Scheduling and working events with clients such as wine tastings or wine dinners.
- Achieving monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals by growing the existing sales territory.
Job Skills & Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Able to work 40-hours per week, occasionally working evenings and weekends for events.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but equivalent work experience acceptable.
- Solid communications skills and a friendly, outgoing personality.
- An appreciation for Virginia wine.
- An ability to work independently and as a team.
- Ability to lift and carry 40lb cases of wine.
Weekend/Holiday Tasting Room Server (Part-time)
Our Tasting Room Servers are essential to the customer experience at Bluestone Vineyard. This position ensures that customers have a positive and memorable visit. Candidates must have a passion for wine and a willingness to learn about the wines we produce and our general operations. The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, professional, reliable, trustworthy, and eager to become knowledgeable about our wines and business operations. This is a part-time position that requires weekend and holiday hours.
Job Responsibilities
- Greeting customers promptly and courteously.
- Excellent oral communication skills to present wines to customers.
- Describe wines, winemaking techniques, winery history, provide general tourist information, and answer questions visitors might have.
- Maintenance of bar including washing of glasses, organizing supplies, cleaning, keeping track of wine stock
- Ability to learn and follow Virginia ABC laws.
- Setting up and cleaning up daily operations of the Tasting Room.
- Ability to handle routine sales transactions which include operating cash register.
- Could include working at off-site festivals/events selling our wines
Job Skills & Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift & bend for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to lift 45 lbs repeatedly.
- Proficient on the computer (familiar with POS systems, Microsoft Office), ability to learn new systems quickly
- The ability to speak comfortably and audibly in front of people.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
